Report: Massachusetts Motorists Vulnerable To Exorbitant Towing Charges

A report from MassPIRG recommends Massachusetts require towing companies to post their rates on tow-away signs, provide itemized bills, photograph a car before towing it, and accept payments via credit card.

    A study by a consumer watchdog concludes that Massachusetts motorists are vulnerable to predatory tow truck drivers.

    The report from MassPIRG  identifies how Massachusetts should improve its laws to better protect people against exorbitant towing charges.
