Opponents of a proposed natural gas pipeline that would run through Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire are pledging to continue protests until the plans are dropped.Members of Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline say they will picket outside Kinder Morgan’s Pittsfield, Massachusetts office every Friday until the company drops its Northeast Energy Direct Project. The first such protest was August 28th according to organizer Bob Connors.

“We know that we can win and it’s a united effort on the part of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York opponents of this pipeline,” said Connors.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must approve the 400-plus mile pipeline. Last week the public comment period for FERC’s environmental impact statement was extended to a date soon to be announced.
