Pittsfield Police are looking for a man believed to have robbed the Credit Union of the Berkshires Tuesday. According to a department press release, witnesses reported that a man entered the Williams Street building around 12:30 p.m., brandished a weapon, demanded cash and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a white male in his early forties with scruffy facial hair and dark curly hair. He is approximately 5’10” or 5’11” tall, 170 pounds and stocky. He was wearing large sunglasses, a gray baseball cap, gray and black hoodless fleece, sweatpants and gray and black gloves.

Officers searched the area with a K9 who tracked to an area where a vehicle had been seen earlier.

As a precaution, Williams and Egremont elementary schools were placed on lockdown status.

Pittsfield Police are asking anyone with information to call 413-448-9700.
