A physicist will present his findings regarding power lines in the Hudson Valley. The presentation is Saturday afternoon at Bard College.

An independent research physicist will be in Dutchess County to discuss his findings that existing power lines can meet the region’s peak electricity-demand needs into the future. The presentation is being hosted by the Hudson Valley Smart Energy Coalition, a collaboration of community groups and officials partnered with Scenic Hudson. The state’s Public Service Commission is seeking to expand transmission lines in the Hudson Valley, to alleviate transmission congestion and cut down on energy costs and reliability concerns. Bard College Research Professor of Environmental Science and Physics Dr. Gidon Eshel, whose property could be impacted by the proposed power lines, undertook the research independently. His presentation is November 1, from 2–4 p.m., at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson.
