NY's Attorney General Settles With Additional Gas Stations After Sandy

The New York State attorney general has settled with five gas stations, including three in the Hudson Valley, over price gouging allegations in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The settlements are with two gas stations on Long Island, in Suffolk County, and three in Westchester County. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says the monetary settlements bring the total number of settlements so far to 30, with total penalties of $185,000 going to the state. He says dozens of price gouging investigations continue. The latest settlements in Westchester are with the Sunoco of RBJ Service Station in Harrison; Shell of DJ's Auto Delicious in North White Plains; and A&S Texaco in Yonkers. In the days after Hurricane Sandy, areas of New York saw some of the largest jumps in gas prices in state history.
