Norsk Titanium Confirms Plattsburgh Manufacturing Plant

The long-awaited confirmation that a major aerospace manufacturer will set up its U.S operations in Plattsburgh was confirmed Monday.
Norway-based Norsk Titanium is the world’s only qualified manufacturer of structural titanium 3D aerospace parts.

The company confirmed Monday at the Farnborough International Air Show near London that Plattsburgh will be the site of the world’s first Rapid Plasma Deposition manufacturing plant.

New York State has ordered the first 20 machines through SUNY Polytechnic University and is part of the state’s $125 million commitment to build the facility.

Norsk Titanium plans to invest $1 billion over the first ten years of operations with the facility operational by the end of 2017.
