Alison Brown, "G Bop" from "Best of the Vanguard Years," playing at FreshGrass at MASS MoCA in North Adams on Saturday and Sunday.

The Byrds, "Hickory Wind" from "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," 50th Anniversary Concert at The Egg on Monday and Tuesday.

Mirk, "Forbidden" from "Love," playing at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen on Friday, Sept. 21 and LarkFest on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Weepies, the title track from their album "Hideaway," playing the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Saturday, September 29.

Dwight Yoakam, "A Thousand Miles from Nowhere" from "Last Chance for a Thousand Years," playing at the Palace Theatre on Sunday, October 7.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
