Governor Andrew Cuomo

Earlier this week, Governor Andrew Cuomo was sworn in for a third term at Ellis Island. It comes after a rocky 2018 — the Democrat beat back a primary challenge and saw close allies convicted at corruption trials. But he also cruised to re-election in November, and has since promised the most progressive legislative session in memory.A new documentary about Andrew Cuomo airs Friday at 7:30 on WMHT public television. "Governor Andrew Cuomo: The First Two Terms" was put together by New York NOW managing editor Matt Ryan.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
