New Location Announced For Holyoke Farmers' Market

One of the oldest farmers’ markets in western Massachusetts will be moving to a new location.

The Holyoke Farmers’ Market, which is observing its 40th anniversary, will move from its longtime location in front of City Hall on High Street to Veterans’ Memorial Park beginning with the market on July 11th.

Holyoke Farmers’ Market manager Candice Pelletier said the new location has more space for vendors, including food trucks, musicians, and for activities.

"We have a lot of events centered around health and exercise and having it at the park will make it that much more easier to participate and have those activities," said Pelletier.

The farmer’s market is also expanding its hours.  It will operate 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. every Thursday through the end of September.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
