Thirteen Springfield, Massachusetts police officers and one former officer are now facing charges stemming from a 2015 off-duty beating outside a bar.
New indictments were returned Wednesday by a statewide grand jury alleging several officers committed perjury and filed false reports in an attempt to cover up the now notorious 2015 incident.
The Massachusetts Attorney General’s office had previously brought assault and battery and conspiracy charges against six police officers.
All have pleaded not guilty.
The newly-named defendants will be arraigned at later dates.
Four men said they were attacked by the off-duty cops in a parking lot after an earlier verbal dispute at a bar.
The city last year paid $800,000 to settle a civil right lawsuit brought by the victims.
