New England Patriots And Mass. AG Partner To Prevent Domestic Violence

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced the partnership Tuesday.

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s office and the charitable arm of the New England Patriots are partnering to combat youth domestic violence.The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation is using $1.5 million to support domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education, partnering with the Massachusetts Attorney General. Students, faculty and coaches from 90 high schools will receive prevention training for free. Attorney General Maura Healey says one in three young people have experienced some form of relationship abuse.

“What you see today is a collective commitment to say ‘No more,’” Healy said. “No more violence. No more abuse. In Massachusetts, we’re changing the game.”

In addition, Healey says 30 schools will partner with local domestic violence service providers for training in bystander intervention and further support. Massachusetts is putting $150,000 toward the effort.
