Holyoke Mayor and Congressional Candidate Alex Morse

Alex Morse is the mayor of Holyoke, Massachusetts. He’s also challenging Congressman Richard Neal in this year’s Democratic primary in the 1st Congressional district. This week, Morse sat down with WAMC while campaigning in Pittsfield. He discussed taking on a senior member of his own party, his fundraising, and how he plans to win a district easily carried by Neal in 2018.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
