More Opposition To A Thruway-Led Pipeline Project

More communities ask DEC lead Pilgrim Pipeline review.

Two more communities have joined the movement to squash the New York Thruway's involvement with the Pilgrim Pipeline Project.

Add Coxsackie and Athens to the growing list of municipalities speaking up against the Thruway Authority taking the role of lead agency for twin 178-mile pipeline project. The Greene County News reports Athens unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the Thruway Authority’s proposal to serve as lead agency, instead expressing support for the DEC to take on that role.

The next day, the Coxsackie Town Council did the same. The two Greene County towns join a growing list that includes several cities and counties, including Albany, Ulster and Rockland.
