The Albany Police Department and Mildred Elley are launching the second annual HERO Scholarship.
The HERO "Hope to Engage in Education to Revitalize the Opportunity in Our Community" scholarship will be awarded to two Albany residents looking to pursue an education, career, and make a positive difference in their community.
Police Chief Eric Hawkins says Mildred Elley will offer winners two-year programs and professional certifications.
"Albany police department and Mildred Elley decided to continue this amazing opportunity because we know how high quality educational opportunities change lives for the better not just for the scholarship recipients, but for their families, friends, and members of this community."
The deadline for applications is August 23rd. The winners will be announced on September 13th. Classes begin September 20th - Download a Scholarship Application HERE!
