Member: Corruption Commission Didn't Probe Cuomo

Office of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo

A member of the commission charged with rooting out corruption in Albany says in a television interview that the panel never investigated New York Governor Andrew Cuomo or Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the men who appointed its members.

Onondaga County Executive Joanne Mahoney told YNN's "Capital Tonight" that she wouldn't "pretend" that the commissioners would investigate either Democrat.

The Republican says there were no conversations within the commission about doing such probes.

On Monday, Cuomo released the commission's preliminary report, which focused on the Legislature.

Cuomo formed the commission after the latest spate of corruption cases involving lawmakers.

Schneiderman says he disagrees with Mahoney's comment and says the commission was empowered to investigate all branches of government.

There was no immediate comment from Mahoney or Cuomo.
