The lineup for June’s Solid Sound festival at MASS MoCA is coming together. WAMC’s Josh Landes has more.

The festival at the North Adams, Massachusetts museum is the brainchild of Wilco. The Chicago indie rock band will play two nights during the last weekend of June, as well as showcasing each band member’s solo project. MASS MoCA Director of Communications Jodi Joseph says they’ve asked some friends to join them.

"Courtney Barnett will be here, the Feelies – one of MASS MoCA’s best ever single night concerts from years ago, Cate Le Bon is a Welsh sort of folk rocker, the Minus Five, clipping.– a hip-hop group from LA,” she told WAMC.

The festival will also feature family programming and a comedy stage curated by John Hodgman. Weekend passes are available now, and single day tickets go on sale February 28th. For more on Solid Sound, click here.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
