Man Pleads Guilty In Upstate Murder Case

An upstate New York man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the beating death of a 63-year-old woman.

Thirty-nine-year-old Gerard Burks, of Albany, entered the plea Thursday morning in in state Supreme Court in Albany.

Police said Lori Milks of Albany was found beaten outside a downtown Albany apartment early last November and died two days later.

Burks was located near the building at the time and taken into custody. He faces up to 19 years to life in state prison when he's sentenced in July.
