WASHINGTON – Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY18) laid out his conditional support for immigration reform during a constituent tele-town hall session Monday night.
He told callers that we must secure our borders, but he said Washington must do much better than it has on other issues.
“There are a lot of things in this bill that will help fix a broken system,” Maloney. “It won’t all be perfect, I can’t tell you that and it sure as heck better be done better than the affordable care act is getting done, but I think there is a way to be fair and to reform our immigration system. And I think we should do it.”
Maloney said he would support no amnesty and letting people earn their citizenship
