Lucius At The Hollow On 12/5

Peter Larson

This Friday, the Brooklyn based band, Lucius, will be at The Hollow in Albany, NY. The last time we welcomed them to The Roundtable, they were hours away from a breakout performance at the Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. Since then, they’ve released an album, a deluxe version of that album and toured the US and Europe - a lot.

The album, Wildewoman (released by Mom + Pop), appeared on a number of best of lists last year - (including Bob Boilen’s All Songs Considered Best Albums of 2013) and their song “Tempest” was on Rolling Stone’s Best Songs of 2013 list.

Lucius is Jess Wolfe, Holly Laessig, Dan Molad, Peter Lalish, and Andrew Burri. All of whom attended Berklee College of Music - though not all at the same time. With Jess and Holly on lead vocals in matching mod outfits - the curated look of the band gets a lot of attention - and they do look great - thankfully they sound awesome, too. Jess Wolfe joins us.

Sarah has been a public radio producer for over fifteen years. She grew up in Saranac Lake, New York where she worked part-time at Pendragon Theatre all through high school and college. She graduated from UAlbany in 2006 with a BA in English and started at WAMC a few weeks later as a part-time board-op in the control room. Through a series of offered and seized opportunities she is now the Senior Contributing Producer of The Roundtable and Producer of The Book Show. During the main thrust of the Covid-19 pandemic shut-down, Sarah hosted a live Instagram interview program "A Face for Radio Video Series." On it, Sarah spoke with actors, musicians, comedians, and artists about the creative activities they were accomplishing and/or missing.
