Lovvorn Wins GOP Primary To Challenge MA Rep. McGovern

Republican Tracy Lovvorn will face Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern in November after winning her party's nomination in Massachusetts.

Lovvorn, a licensed physical therapist from Grafton, defeated Kevin Powers in Tuesday's primary in the central Massachusetts congressional district. She has positioned herself as a centrist candidate and says the Democratic incumbent is too extreme.

Both Republican contenders pushed for congressional term limits and promised to serve no more than three terms — or six years — if elected.

McGovern was first elected to the House in 1996. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
