Lisman Joins Race For Vermont Governor

The co-founder of a nonpartisan good-government group says he'll run as a Republican for governor in 2016.

Bruce Lisman, a Burlington native and retired Wall Street executive, issued a statement Tuesday morning saying he's entering the race. He says he'll make a formal announcement later in the fall.

Lisman was a co-founder of Campaign for Vermont, which has focused on issues including sustainable spending, education and ethics in state government.

The University of Vermont graduate worked on Wall Street for 40 years, mostly at the firm Bear Stearns.
