The Hyde Wants To See Your Record Collection

If we say “Abbey Road,” “Pet Sounds” or “Tommy,” an iconic image comes to mind: that of an album cover. But in today’s age of streaming music and iPods, cover art associated with music is not as indelible.

Now, as vinyl records are enjoying a comeback among collectors, a new generation is being introduced to the art of the album cover. A new exhibit at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls will showcase some of the most recognizable record sleeves of the 70s and 80s and some you may not have seen before. WAMC’s Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard spoke with Hyde curator Evi Fisher.

Lucas Willard is a reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011.
