The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival will move from its longtime home to a nearby site gifted by a local philanthropist.

The festival will move from Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison to a new site in Philipstown gifted by conservationist Christopher Davis as a permanent home for the 34-year-old not-for-profit repertory theater. The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival will rebuild its iconic tent as a permanent open-air structure and plans to begin performances at its new location in the summer of 2022 after a final season at Boscobel in 2021. Artistic Director Davis McCallum says the gifted land allows what was a summer festival to transform to a year-round cultural anchor in the region.
