Homelessness Awareness Night Planned For Saratoga Springs

wikipedia commons

A Homelessness Awareness Night will be held in Saratoga Springs Thursday evening.

The Saratoga County Homelessness Committee will host the event that begins at 6:30 with a proclamation by Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen.

A Candle Light Walk to the Salvation Army building on Woodlawn Avenue will follow in tribute to those who are homeless and those who have died on the streets.

The Salvation Army building is the home of the city’s Code Blue program, which provides emergency shelter during extreme weather. It was started after the December 2013 death of a homeless city woman.

Partnering organizations will make presentations on how the community can fight homelessness.
