A mailer sent by a Republican political action committee is urging Democratic voters in New York’s 19th congressional district to vote for the Green Party candidate in today’s midterms.
The mailer voters received election eve urges Democrats to vote for the candidate it characterizes as a progressive liberal — the Green Party’s Steven Greenfield — over a moderate Democrat — Antonio Delgado. The two candidates face freshman Republican Congressman John Faso in the hotly-contested swing district. Independent Diane Neal is also on the ballot. Greenfield has denounced the super PAC’s campaign, calling it a dirty track. He says the PAC’s expenditure is almost 50 times his total advertising budget. Both he and Neal have rejected criticism that they are spoilers in the tossup race.
