Four Nights Add Up To Live Album For Matthew Houck's "Phosphorescent" Project

Musician Matthew Houck, who records and performs under the Phosphorescent moniker, has won over fans and critics alike over the past 15 years, during which time he has released seven studio albums. Celebrated for his sonic meticulousness in the studio and on stage, Houck’s music is hard to categorize — he’s been identified as a Dylan-esque singer-songwriter for the 21st century, an indie-country experimenter, and a serious pop composer.

In any event, Phosphorescent has followed up its beloved 2013 album Muchacho with Live At The Music Hall, recorded over four sold-out nights in Brooklyn.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
