An open meeting to discuss policing and race is scheduled Monday in the largest city in western Massachusetts.
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno said over 90 people have been invited to offer their perspectives on policing and race.
"And that includes some of the protest groups that have been invited to it too, " Sarno said.
Because of the pandemic, the discussion will be done remotely. It will be live streamed on the city’s Facebook Page.
Sarno said he plans to highlight steps his administration has taken over the last dozen years to bridge community-police relations and listen to “constructive criticism”
The forum is scheduled from 4:30pm-6pm.
