As the need for emergency food at pantries and meal sites in western Massachusetts continues to grow, a community forum on hunger is taking place this Saturday, October 29th.

The discussion about the causes of hunger and examining possible solutions will take place at Berkshire Community College from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.  It is part of a series of public forums organized by the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Andrew Morehouse, the executive director of the food bank.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
