A former president of Skidmore College has died. David H. Porter, the college's fifth president, was found on a path near his home in Saratoga Springs Saturday morning. The 80-year-old was reported missing Friday evening. Police do not suspect foul play.
In a note to students and faculty, Skidmore president Philip Glotzbach said "it is especially painful, in this season of renewal, for the Skidmore community to once more confront the loss of a beloved community member and friend."
Details for a service have not yet been announced.
Last week the Skidmore community mourned the death of 20-year-old student Willem Golden. The Massachusetts native died after falling from the roof of a house near the University of Delaware on March 19th.
