wikipedia commons

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch and coast flood advisory for Connecticut as forecasters expect heavy rain and possible thunderstorms. The watch and advisory are in effect from late Tuesday into Wednesday. The Weather Service says 2 inches of rain per hour are possible in some locations.

Forecasters say possible torrential downpours will bring the potential for urban and localized flash flooding and some small stream flooding.

The entire Connecticut shore is under a coastal flood advisory from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Forecasters say tides will be 1 to 1½ feet above normal and may combine with onshore winds to flood low areas along the shore.
