Land preservation groups and elected officials will be on hand in two Hudson Valley, New York locations to announce farmland protection efforts.

The announcements will come in Dutchess County, later this morning, and in Columbia County this afternoon. First, in Red Hook, Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan will talk about what he calls a conservation victory as part of Scenic Hudson’s Saving the Land That Matters Most Campaign. Congressman Chris Gibson, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, and other officials will gather at Greig Farm – primarily a fruit and vegetable farm - to talk about the initiative to provide farmers with funds to invest in their agricultural operations. Then this afternoon in Taghkanic, Scenic Hudson’s Sullivan and Columbia County officials will gather at Triple Creek Farm, a dairy farm, to announce the farmland protection effort there.
