Connecticut Congresswomen Elizabeth Esty and Rosa DeLauro are renewing calls for a major infrastructure plan.

Marking National Infrastructure Week, Esty, who sits on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and DeLauro say they want to see significant infrastructure improvements.

DeLauro, of Connecticut’s 3rd House District, has long supported the creation of a national infrastructure bank.

Esty, from the 5th House District, says 10 percent of Connecticut’s bridges and 57 percent of public roads are in poor condition.

The Democrats say the state needs significant investment in its drinking and wastewater infrastructure.
