The Double H Ranch

The Double H Ranch, located in town Lake Luzerne, NY, is gearing up for another exciting and empowering ski season with our Adaptive Winter Sports Program. Established in 1998, the Adaptive Winter Sports Program offers children ages 6-16 dealing with chronic and life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to participate in various winter sports in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains FREE of charge with necessary equipment provided.  Our winter program is meant to help teach kids a valuable lifelong skill, while also creating a memorable experience for the entire family.

Our Adaptive Winter Sports Program runs from January through March. Activities include Alpine skiing and snowboarding instruction, as well as snowshoeing lessons. This unique program is coordinated by Double H staff, and the magic that takes place on the slopes is made possible through the efforts of our volunteer instructors and National Ski Patrol who provide 1:1 support.

The Double H was founded over 25 years ago by philanthropist Charles R. Wood and actor Paul Newman.  Since its inception, the Double H has served over 60,000 children from around the world. The mission of the Double H Ranch is to provide specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Our purpose is to enrich their lives and provide camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. All programs are FREE of charge and capture the magic of the Adirondacks.
