Dogs of Desire

A unique, outrageously inventive, one of a kind musical-theatrical experience! From burlesque to motorcycles, from ghost stories to karaoke, a Dogs of Desire concert is a multimedia extravaganza you’ll never forget. Classical chamber ensemble meets rock band - the Albany Symphony’s unique, 18-member Dogs go where no classical ensemble has ever gone before.

The Albany Symphony American Music Festival’s Dogs of Desire concert will be held on Friday, May 16 at 7:30pm. There will be a 6:00pm reception hosted by Maestro David Alan Miller and Grammy award winning Percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie prior to the show. The evening features three world premieres combining dance and music. Along with the three premieres, the ensemble will also perform a Dogs classic, Arthur Bloom's "Orchestrobics," with guest aerobics instructor, Abby Todd. The audience will participate in a Zumba-style aerobics performance.

And in one of the new pieces, composer Andreia Pinto-Correio celebrates Flamenco with a work featuring one of Spain's greatest flamenco dancers, Omayra Amaya. We are joined now by composer Andreia Pinto-Correio, flamenco dancer, Omayra Amaya, and Dogs of Desire and Albany Symphony Bassoonist, Stephen Walt.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
