County Elections Board Tells Voters To Check Their Polling Places

In New York, the Dutchess County Board of Elections is urging voters to check their polling places.

The Dutchess County Board of Elections says because of county-wide redistricting, there is a strong chance that voters may be assigned to new polling places and election districts this year. Plus, say the county Board of Elections commissioners, compounding the possible confusion over new polling places is a mailer that was sent out by New York Jobs Now. The commissioners say the mailer incorrectly lists old polling places for many Dutchess County voters. New York Jobs Now is a coalition that supports a ballot proposal to allow up to seven resort-style gambling casinos in the state. The polling place lookup tool on the Dutchess County Board of Elections website has all the current data, and the Board of Elections has sent at least one mailing to all active voters with their current polling places since August of this year.
