Exactly two weeks before Election Day, candidates in the race for Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District met in a debate. Democratic Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty faced off against Republican Mark Greenberg Tuesday.Mark Greenberg, a Republican from Litchfield, who founded Adirondack Radio Telephone and Adirondack Mobile Telephone, says if he elected the first thing he would do is change the foundation of Congress including setting term limits.
“These people don’t sit down and talk about anything,” Greenberg said. “They’re so busy fundraising for the next election they don’t have any time to look at the other person across the street.”
Seeking a second term, Esty spoke about a willingness to reach across the aisle.
“I will continue to do what I’ve been doing if I have the honor of being reelected,” Esty said. “Because I will tell you there is more people of good will than you would know because frankly it doesn’t make the headlines.”
