Construction work has been halted at an upstate New York high-tech manufacturing complex after old cylinders from the property's stint as a Cold War rocket fuel test site were discovered.
The Saratogian reports workers found 34 cylinders buried about 500 feet from the parking lot at GlobalFoundries at the Luther Forest Technology Campus in the town of Malta.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommended closing the area near where the cylinders were found. The EPA believes the cylinders do not pose a danger if left undisturbed.
It's not clear what the cylinders contain. A contractor was hired to remove them.
