Burlington Voters Approve Two Bonds

Voters in Vermont's largest city have approved two multi-million dollar bonds.
Voters in Burlington approved a $70 million bond to upgrade Burlington High School. WCAX-TV reports the funds will cover making the buildings accessible, address maintenance and improve safety and security.

Burlington residents also approved a $30 million bond to pay for upgrades to the city's wastewater and storm water system. The bond will cover improvements to three wastewater treatment facilities, 11 pump stations, 13 miles of pipes and the handling of brewery discharges.

Mayor Miro Weinberger says he's pleased with the votes.
