The Berkshire Playwright’s Lab Annual Gala Featuring Tony Shalhoub

The Berkshire Playwright’s LabAnnual Gala will take place on Friday, June 7 at 6:30pm at the Wyantenuck Country Club in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

The fundraising event will include a silent auction and a one-night-only performance of a new work by Rick Dresser featuring Tony Shalhoub.

Tony Shalhoub won the 2018 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in “The Band's Visit.” It was his fourth Tony nomination. In 2018 he was also nominated for an Emmy for Supporting Actor in a Comedy, and won the SAG award in that category, for his role in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” He had previously won three Emmy's and a Golden Globe for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his Role in “Monk.”

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
