Baystate Health Setting Aside Beds For "Surge" Of Patients In Coming Weeks

Baystate Health is setting aside hundreds of beds at its medical center in Springfield and at community hospitals in western Massachusetts to ready for an increase in coronavirus patients.

   The largest hospital network in western Massachusetts is preparing for a surge in coronavirus patients.

    Beds are being set aside at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and at the three community hospitals Baystate Health operates in Greenfield, Palmer, and Westfield.

   Speaking Monday at City Hall in Springfield, Baystate president and CEO Dr. Mark Keroack provided an update.
