Colorado's Aspen Skiing Company and a private equity firm will buy the parent company of Vermont's Stratton Mountain.
Aspen will pay $1.5 billion for Intrawest Resort Holdings Inc., Stratton's owner, and all their properties.  WCAX-TV reports that includes Quebec's Mont Tremblant and Steamboat Resort in Colorado.

This is the second acquisition of Vermont resorts by Colorado ski companies in recent months. It was announced in February that Vail will buy Stowe Mountain Resort for $50 million.
