Answer: MACRON becomes MICRON.

On-air questions: Ian, these are contentious times. But it’s always good to remember how much we have in common with each other. Or, at least, how much three things have in common with each other. I’ll read the descriptions of three things whose names all have exactly one word in common and you determine what that common word is.

2. Television series set in the fictional town of Dillon, Texas / 1976 movie in which a mother and daughter say “I wish I could switch places with her for just one day” at the same time / Puppet who lives in the castle in the Land of Make-Believe
3. Cocktail made with vodka, tequila, rum, triple sec, gin, and cola / Place where Rudolph, Hermey the Elf, and Yukon Cornelius land after escaping the Abominable Snowman / Condiment named after a region in the upper St. Lawrence River
4. Quadripoint located in the southwestern United States / Board game advertised in a 1970s television commercial with the line “Pretty sneaky, sis!” / Second novel published by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring Sherlock Holmes
5. Rap group whose third member is DJ Spinderella / Spoiled brat who is deemed a “bad nut” by squirrels in the book and a “bad egg” by a sorting machine in the movie / Home to sports teams nicknamed the Bees, the Jazz, and the Grizzlies

Extra credit
1. Network that launched in 1991 that was formed from a merger of two channels, one called Ha! / Urban area that contains the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir / Division formed in 1994 that currently includes the Minnesota Twins
2. 2000 film that, at the time, received the most Academy Award nominations for a non-English-language film / Mid-1990s Nickelodeon game show that featured a talking Olmec head / General term for a maneuver like the Statue of Liberty play in football
