The winds of political change are blowing through Holyoke, Massachusetts. Mayor Alex Morse announced today that he will not be a candidate for reelection in 2021.First elected in 2011 at the age of 22, Morse said it was never his plan to stay in the mayor’s office more than 10 years. WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Matt Szafranski, Editor-In-Chief of Western Mass Politics & Insight about Morse’s announcement and what it means for the 2021 election in Holyoke.
