Albany Officials: Dogs Welcome At Capital Hills

Albany city officials say a publicly distributed flyer is fake news.

A call-to-action notice says "The City of Albany is threatening to revoke off-leash dog walking privileges at Capital Hills Golf Course," and urges citizens to show up for a weekend meeting at the Bach Library.

A spokesman for Mayor Kathy Sheehan says the "flyer is 100% false” and “there are no plans to change dog rules."

In March 2016, Sheehan dedicated the Whalen Way Nature Trail at the Capital Hills at Albany Golf Course to honor Albany’s 73rd mayor, Thomas Whalen, a dog-lover.

In 2012, Dave received a Communicator Award of Distinction for his WAMC news story "Fail: The NYS Flood Panel," which explores whether the damage from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee could have been prevented or at least curbed. Dave began his radio career as a “morning personality” at WABY in Albany.
