Albany County Parking Lot Now Open To Public Parking Nights/Weekends

Officials say expanded parking opportunities in downtown Albany will help alleviate the lack of options that have frustrated residents and tourists.

The opening of the lot evenings and weekends should alleviate parking concerns for those visiting area restaurants/businesses and for those attending various events like parades and the upcoming Tulip Festival.

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy says the county parking lot at 208 Washington Avenue is now open for public parking...  "...from 6 to midnight Monday through Friday and on weekends from 8 in the morning until midnight."

McCoy says the 100-car lot will benefit restaurants, businesses and city events like the Tulip Festival.

Patrick Noonan owns El Loco Mexican Café: "There are now no obstacles to coming to Lark Street and enjoying what we have to offer. Additional parking is going to encourage growth."

There's a flat fee of $5. The weekend rate is $8. You have to pay with a card.
