Adams Terror Suspect To Be Arraigned Wednesday

The Adams, Massachusetts man suspected of planning an attack on a college campus in support of the Islamic State group is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court Wednesday.Alexander Ciccolo will be arraigned on weapons and assault charges in Springfield’s U.S. District court at 10 a.m. The Department of Justice says the 23-year-old allegedly stabbed a nurse in the head with a pen after being arrested July 4th, leading to the latter charge. The U.S. Attorney’s office released an excerpt of a 90-minute FBI interview in which it says Ciccolo expresses his support for ISIL.

“The people that you see being executed are criminals,” says the person whose face is blacked out in the video whom authorities say is Ciccolo. “They’re criminals. They’re the lowest of the low.”

Ciccolo’s attorney David Hoose says his client denies all the allegations and will plead not guilty. On July 14th Hoose said Ciccolo regretted the attack on the nurse.
