Jennie Brand - UCLA   
Single Mother Employment Outcomes
Dr. Jennie Brand is a professor of sociology at The University of California Los Angeles. She studies social inequality and its implications for various outcomes that indicate life chances. Her research agenda encompasses three main areas: (1) access to and the impact of higher education; (2) the socioeconomic and social-psychological consequences of disruptive events, such as job displacement; and (3) causal inference and the application and innovation of quantitative methods for panel data. Marketing Backfire
Dr. Amit Bhattacharjee is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Marketing group at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Professor Bhattacharjee’s research lies at the intersection of moral psychology, economic decision making, and consumer well-being. Using a series of behavioral experiments and field studies, he investigates how consumer moral beliefs influence their marketplace behavior. Current projects examine responses to public scandals, judgments of producer motives, and how the pursuit of authenticity influences consumption

Engineering Complexity
Dr. Radu Sporea is Royal Academy of Engineering Academic Research Fellow in the Advanced Technology Institute at the University of Surrey. His current research focuses on power-efficient, cost-effective large-area electronics in organic and inorganic semiconductor technologies. Additionally, Dr. Sporea enjoys traveling, podcasting, photography and public engagement in science.

Hawley Montgomery-Downs - West Virginia University
Sleep Disruption
Dr. Hawley Montgomery-Downs earned her BA in Experimental Psychology from Humboldt State University and her PhD in Developmental Psychobiology from the Biobehavioral Sciences Graduate Degree Program at the University of Connecticut. Her postdoctoral fellowship was in Pediatric Sleep Medicine at the University of Louisville. Dr. Montgomery-Downs joined the faculty at West Virginia University in 2005. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and a member of the WVU Center for Neuroscience. Her work on postpartum parents has been supported by the National Institutes of Health. She also conducts research on methods to prevent children from developing sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea.

Ching-Hua Chuan - University of North Florida        
Composing with Computers
Dr. Ching-Hua Chuan is Assistant Professor of Computing at University of North Florida. She received her PhD in computer science at University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering in 2008. She joined the School of Computing at University of North Florida in 2010. Dr. Chuan’s research interests include audio signal processing, music information retrieval, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Her article on automated style-specific accompaniment won the Best New Investigator paper in 2010 Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing. She is also the recipient of the 2013-2014 outstanding undergraduate teaching awards at UNF. Dr. Chuan received her BS and MS in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University. In Taiwan, she was the lead guitarist of several all-female rock bands.
