Abortion Politics Enter Vermont Gubernatorial Race

Vermont Republican gubernatorial nominee Phil Scott calls women's reproductive rights a wedge issue, and some PAC ads are now trying to use the issue against him.
The issue flared up in a debate last week on television station WPTZ between Scott and Democratic nominee Sue Minter. Scott complained about an attack ad against him by the political arm of Planned Parenthood's regional chapter.  There is a counter ad sharply criticizing Planned Parenthood.

The Republican says he's pro-abortion rights, but did sponsor legislation requiring parents to be notified before a minor has an abortion. The Vermont Right to Life Political Committee has endorsed Scott for governor.

Minter says she is pro-abortion rights without exception.
