One of the major pieces of legislation still pending final approval in the waning days of the legislative session on Beacon Hill is an economic development bill.
Republican Gov. Charlie Baker announced the legislation during a speech in March at a luncheon sponsored by the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Democratic-controlled House and Senate have passed their own versions, which need to be reconciled by a conference committee into a final bill and voted on in both chambers before the July 31st midnight deadline.
WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with state Housing and Economic Development Secretary Jay Ash about the legislation.
