2013 Solid Sound Festival - MASS MoCA Events

Solid Sound is without a doubt a very busy time here at MASS MoCA- but the people who work at this contemporary art museum and presenting arts venue aren't ones to rest on their laurels. MASS MoCA hosts concerts, comedy shows, dance - and more - all year long. They present the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival in July and August and the FreshGrass Bluegrass Festival in September.

They present more than their fair share of one-off events, too - as well as providing space for residencies and workshops. Here now to tell us more are Performing Arts Curator, Rachel Chanoff and Performing Arts Director, Sue Killam.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
